Gold Coast Indigenous Art Collective meet at regular sector gatherings for Aboriginal artists and cultural workers within the region.

Hosted by Libby Harwood, the arts hub meetings are a space to connect, share knowledge, listen to ideas and promote/discuss your creative practice and opportunities you may be aware of.

We meet at Expressive Ground of an evening and the informal events are family friendly.  Please connect with us at gciacollective@gmail.com for more info and we can pass on your details to the ARTS HUB!

Gold Coast Indigenous Arts Collective wanted to create something different.  In preparing for an exciting new year, we all agreed we wanted to move stock, clear out materials we no longer used AND we wanted to offer and provide a space for local creatives to get together.

We decided there must be other artists out there who feel like we do AND we wanted to share and promote this great community venue with the public.  Having hosted a boutique-market stall at HOTA in July 2018, we sought to create another opportunity to present our fashion collections that sprung from our involvement at Festival 2018.

We also agree that is about time the Gold Coast sees there is more to Aboriginal art than dots.

The ART MARKETS were born!

The ART MARKETS are an inclusive, family friendly event, with entry by gold coin donation.  There is an exciting, curated workshop program led by members of the Gold Coast Indigenous Arts Collective and live music to serenade your soul as you meander through the vibrant atmosphere.  Of course, a sausage sizzle and basic drinks will be on offer, with proceeds going to Expressive Ground.

Comfy couches, gorgeous trees and the beautiful Tallebudgera river give you space to chill with the family for a relaxing Saturday morn.

The diversity of artists and groups attending ensures for an exciting and dynamic mix of ART available for purchase or swap.  With designer t-shirts, fabrics, haberdashery, paints, pastels, wire, canvas, feathers, ochre, fabulous shoes and on and on, you will find loads of treasures to get those creative juices flowing and totally unique gifts!

ART MARKETS gates open to the public at 8am and trade until midday.  Registered stallholders must arrive at 7am to setup and offsite by 1pm.
